The test group of ACS patients who have the clinical signs and symptoms of myocardial ischemia,
including unstable angina (UA),
non-
segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI),
segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) were hospitalized in Selcuk University Meram Medical Faculty Department of Cardiology. The periodontal condition was graded as follows on the basis of t
matched control patients with moderate to severe periodontitis (Group P) were otherwise systemically healthy.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The periodontal condition was graded as follows on the basis of the current classification method for periodontal diseases localized or generalized periodontitis of stage II or stage III with grade B or grade C.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusions for both groups included metabolic disorders, high blood pressure, treated with antihypertensive medications, and periodontal therapy and antibiotic treatment 3 months prior the study. Smoking habits, education status were also recorded.
