Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. The patient diagnosed with first-episode schizophrenia within two years of illness onset (World Health Organization, 1993) (Breitborde, Srihari, Woods, & Haven, 2015) 2.The means score of psychotic symptoms assessed by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) for schizophrenia Thai version (PANSS-T) between 1.00-3.00 points. (Olivares, Sermon, Hemels, & Schreiner, 2013) 3.No history of brain disease or cognitive impairment, psychiatric comorbidity, and physical complication. Inclusion criteria for the caregiver 1.The person who is a family member such as a parent, spouse, or child and provide continuing care to patients for more than 6 months without receiving a wage for care. 2.Good communication and co-operate in the research.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria for the patients 1. Presentation of relapse or re-hospitalization, the total means scored of psychotic symptoms assessed by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) for schizophrenia Thai version (PANSS-T) more than 4.00 points. (Olivares, Sermon, Hemels, & Schreiner, 2013) 2. The patient received Electrical Convulsive Therapy (ECT). Exclusion Criteria for the caregiver 1. The patients were excluded from the research. 2. Unable to participate in any activities of the research.
