Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients age 18-70 years and diagnosis with coronary artery disease that required an elective CABG.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were cardiogenic shock or cardiac arrest during the current admission&#44; conditions requiring other cardiac procedures (such as valvular heart disease)&#44; history of cardiac operation&#44; significant peripheral arterial disease affecting the lower limbs&#44; end&#45;stage renal disease (ESRD; glomerular filtration rate [GFR]<15 ml/min)&#44; pregnancy&#44; and chronic lung disease.
