Interventions

case group (49 patients) was treated with electrical stimulation for 6 sessions over 6 consecutive days. Each session lasted 20 minutes. Electrical stimulations were provided using (Active Dose II Dev
each patient lay down on the bed or sit on the armchair&#44
his/her affected ear was cleaned with alcohol&#44
and a special electrode&#44
covered with a damp cloth&#44
was placed in the mastoid part of the temporal bone. Considering the tolerance of the patient&#44
the electrical stimulation was conducted at current intensity of 2 mA. After the last treatment session&#44
each patient was fully examined in terms of side effects&#44
changes in tinnitus&#44
and time remaining. ,In control group (placebo) (36 cases)&#44
all the above measurements and interventions were performed but after inserting the electrode&#44
the electrical current was not conducted.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 49 patients 18-75 years old with persistent mild, moderate and severe tinnitus for more than 6 months and who did not respond to routine treatments

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: slight and catastrophic tinnitus, impaired cognitive abilities, malignant lesions in their ear, panic disorder or psychotic symptoms, patients receiving any current treatments and patients with history of long-term consumption of psychiatric medications and benzodiazepines
