Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Clinical diagnosis of Deep neck infections, (2) age 18 and above, (3) admission to the facility

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) any with other site of infection apart the deep neck spaces&#44; (2) those with causes of known raising or lowering procalcitonin&#44; which are&#44; End&#45;stage&#45;renal&#45;disease (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m 2 or dialysis)&#44; Recent (2 months) of trauma or surgical procedure&#44; Thyroid malignancy&#44; and history of organ failure
