Interventions

The teeth were cleaned by pumice with rubber cups in slow speed handpiece&#44
moisture control was maintained by cotton rolls and saliva ejector. Then pit and fissure surfaces of teeth were air&#45
dried for 5 seconds to ensure the moisture control. All pit and fissure surfaces were etched with 37% phosphoric acid gel (3M Scotchbondâ„¢ Multipurpose Etchant&#44
USA) for 30 seconds&#44
then thoroughly rinsed the teeth with air/water spray to remove etchant&#44
adhesive bonding agent: Adperâ„¢ Single Bond 2 (3M ESPE&#44
USA) was applied to all pit and fissure surfaces with microbrush then thinned out using an air syringe and light&#45
cured for 10 seconds&#44
then apply sealant (Helioseal clear&#44
Ivoclar Vivadent&#44
USA) with disposable tip to all surfaces and light&#45
cured for 20 seconds per surface. After that&#44
the sealants were examined by explorer for retention and any defects. Occlusion was evaluated using articulating paper and adjusting if needed. If any of each step had contamination&#44
all procedures were repeated. ,The teeth were cleaned by pumice with rubber cups in slow speed handpiece&#44

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy children who had previously untreated at least one pair of fully eruption of first permanent molars with carious lesions (ICDAS score 2 to 4) in functional occlusion and without frank cavities, bitewing radiographs showed radiolucent involved less than or equal to outer one-third of dentin and had a cooperative behavior during dental procedure.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who had medical disease, enamel defected teeth, known acrylic allergies, and uncooperative behavior were excluded.
