Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients in good health between the age group of 18 and 57 years. 2. Mandibular molars diagnosed with SIP 3. A class I or II medical history (American Society of Anesthesiologists) 4. Patients with preoperative pain score ranging from moderate to severe (> 54 mm) on a visual analogue scale (VAS, 0–170 mm).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a known allergy, sensitivity, or contraindications to any local anesthetics, the presence of systemic or mental disorders, pregnancy, lactation, and patients who had taken analgesics within 12 hours before the root canal therapy.
