an educational session based on Protection&#45
Motivation Theory (supplementary material) which discussed the severity and impact of dental caries&#44
the prevalence and risk for dental caries&#44
the efficacy of preventative measures&#44
and the promotion of self&#45
efficacy. The sessions lasted approximately 30 minutes and involved a question and answer session. Participants were then asked to practice tooth brushing on their children. Self&#45
efficacy was promoted during these sessions by using a role model to demonstrate tooth brushing techniques and verbal encouragement. After an educational session&#44

Inclusion criteria: Healthy 9 – 18 month old children and their primary caregivers

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: children with medical conditions Children do not have maxillary anterior teeth
