Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were teeth had undergone primary root canal treatment, having periapical lesion with periapical index score of 3, 4 or 5 (Orstavik et al. 1986) , with a pocket depth of <3 mm; and incisive, canine and premolar teeth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients had any systemic disease, received NASIDs or antibiotic treatment for one month before the study, had teeth with external or internal root resorption were excluded from the study.
