Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals aged 20 years and above who undergo postero-lateral thoracotomy at Songklanagarind hospital were eligible for participation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: If they had one of the following conditions, they were excluded from the study - unable or unwilling to comply with treatment. - had tumor invasion into the chest wall or brachial plexus. - presented with a PPC prior to randomization - remain ventilated for longer than 48 hours following surgery - repeated thoracic surgery - underwent pneumonectomy - thoracic deformity such as kyphosis and scoliosis - shoulder joint stiffness - brachial plexus injury - pacemaker - unstable vital sign more than 48 hours after surgery including HR >120 bpm, RR >30 bpm, SpO2 140 mmHg - could not sit in upright position
