Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Men and women were aged 65 yrs and above. They obtained a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score of ≤23.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presentation cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes, liver and kidney function impairment, or the presence of other medical conditions with significant psychiatric or neurologic consequence.
