Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: : (1) skeletal Class II malocclusion and a retrognathic mandible (retruded pogonion vs. nasion perpendicular line, < 4 mm); (2) growth stage 4-5 (acceleration/peak growth) on hand and wrist radiographs according Bjork [1972] and Grave and Brown [1976]; (3) and no underlying disease.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) they did not comply to training or wearing Class II elastics; (2) the PowerScopeTM broke repeatedly, or (3) class II relationship did not improve after 12 months of wearing fixed appliance. Excluded patients were treated using other methods until malocclusion resolved.
