Interventions

We first performed a detailed target abdominal ultrasound with focusing on terminal ileum and colon for confirm or rule out of meconium ileus by an expert pediatric radiologist. If ultrasound sign of
hydrocolonic ultrasound guided treatment was considered. &#44
we instilled 20 to 30 ml of hypertonic solution via a no.8 feeding tube trans&#45
rectally to fill the rectum and colon in supine position under ultrasound guidance. Ultimately&#44
a plain abdominal radiography was taken to evaluate the entrance of solution to dilated proximal loop.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with ultrasound findings of uncomplicated meconium ileus or meconial plug syndrome

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -patients who their parents did not give inform written consent. -Newborns with other mechanical obstruction in other parts of the intestine, complicated cases, and patients with signs of perforation were excluded from the study.
