18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Age over 18 years - Diagnosed with head and neck cancer - No history of cancer treatment during the past 6 months - Have treatment plan for radiotherapy which is expected to have taste alteration as complication - Able to communicate in Thai and sign the consent form - Resided in Thailand during the past 5 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Loss of all taste sensation prior to radiotherapy - Unable to tolerate the test - Taking medicines affecting taste as side effects during the past one week prior to radiation, including cyclophosphamide, cisplatin, etoposide, zopiclone, azelastine, emedastine, amiloride, penicillamine, captopril, metronidazole, chlorhexidine, eprosartan

MeasureTime frame
changes in recognition thresholds 0-400, 1000-2000, 2800-3400, 4000-4400, and 5000-7000 cGy of radiation and 2 month-follow up after r filter paper disc,changes in body weight 0-400, 1000-2000, 2800-3400, 4000-4400, and 5000-7000 cGy of radiation and 2 month-follow up after r weight scale,preference in spicy, umami, sweet, salty, sour, bitter before radiation therapy validated questionnaire (Taste-26)
