Serratus plane block (SPB) is the technique of injecting the local anesthetics into myofascial plane between the latissimus dorsi and the serratus anterior muscle. SPB produces hemithorax analgesia&#4

which is effective for analgesia during mastectomy&#44

thoracotomy&#44

and rib fractures.

17 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consenting 20 patients, aged between 17 to 70 years old, ASA physical status I-III, and scheduled to undergo elective modified radical mastectomy or mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy will be recruited for this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal, BMI > 35kg/m2, pregnancy, coagulopathy, known allergy to local anesthetic drugs or drugs used in the study, pre-existing neurological or muscular disorders, previous chest surgery and skin infection over the site of needle insertion, will be excluded.
