Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. At least 18 years old 2. singleton term uncomplicated pregnancy (37-42 weeks) 3. indication for cesarean section 4. regional anesthesia (carbetocin is licensed for use with regional anesthesia only)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. contraindications to use uterotonic drugs (heart disease, high blood pressure, allergic medicine) 2. severe anemia (Hb ≤ 8 gm / dl) 3. Disease or used drug that results abnormal blood bleeding 4. fetal distress 5. High risk for PPH due to uterine atony • prolong latent phase of labor • history of PPH • multiparity (childbirths >4 ) • massive blood loss before labor • placenta previa • placental abruption • placenta adherence
