Interventions

Brown rice powder from the brand “Nature’s Own” was used in the intervention group as the adjunctive therapy product. Participants are instructed to mix 3 tablespoons which equals to 18grams of
brown rice instant powder ,standard treament &#45
on at least one oral hypoglycaemic drug

Age
18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Age between 18 and 70 years old • Diagnosed with diabetes of more than 6 months • On at least one oral hypoglycaemic agent(s) • HbA1c 7-9% (within the last 3 months on recruitment) • Agree not to take other beverages, herbal or nutritional supplements for the duration of the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Severe diabetic complication(s) including end-stage renal disease and proliferative retinopathy. • Pregnancy • On insulin therapy
