Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Type II Diabetic patients were diagnosed from Internal medicine physician in Internal medicine of Golden Jubilee Medical Center, Mahidol university, based on diagnosis and classification of American Diabetes Association.Patients who have HbA1c more than 7% were included. 2.Non-diabetic patients without family history of diabetes mellitus by history taking of signs&symptoms and risk factors (The expert committee on the diagnosis and classification of diabetes), medical records review and fasting blood sugar screening. 3. Periodontic patients were diagnosed base on the classification system of American Academy of Periodontology.Patients who have clicnical attachment level more than 3 mm. in 30% were included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Patients have bone disease and periodontitis as a manifestation of ystemic disease such as arthritis, osteoporosis, smoking and pregnancy. - Patients were on medications such as antibiotics, steroids, Bisphosphonates, calciums, vitamin D and hormone replacement therapy within 6 months. - Patients were treated periodontal disease within 6 months.
