Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Infants & children who were admitted to our hospital due to respiratory distress (respiratory rate greater than normal, signs of increased work of breathing or oxygen saturation in room air below than 95 %) were enrolled into the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria’s were clinical respiratory failure that required immediate invasive or noninvasive mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic instability, congenital cyanotic heart diseases, presence of air leak syndrome, nasal mucosa injury or refused to participate.
