Interventions

The participant will undergo six minutes of sitting inactively. EIPPT will be measured at baseline&#44
three minutes and then again five minutes after the control condition stops.,The participant will undergo six minutes of eating sweets (Bassetsâ„¢ Jelly Babies). Participants will be allowed to consu
the only stipulation being that they must have at least one in their mouth at all times and be actively eating it throughout the relevant 6 minutes. EIPPT will be measured at baseline&#44
three minutes and then again five minutes after the intervention stops.,The participant will undergo six minutes of chewing gum. EIPPT will be measured at baseline&#44

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy (self-reported) University students and aged between 16-50 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: People with any metabolic or other condition who have been advised to avoid eating sweets or other high calorie, low nutrition foods, any condition which could alter pain sensitivity such as neuropathic disorders, persistent pain, any present (or history, over the preceding six months) of medical problems of the upper limb, taking any analgesic medication (prescription or non-prescription), allergy to the sweets/chewing gum which will be used in the study, inability to, or any doubt of ability to, give Informed Consent.
