Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The participants who have experienced spontaneous pain at upper trapezius muscle for 3-6 month and that at least one MTrPs available in the upper trapezius muscle Have pain intensity during past 3 month with visual analogue scale (0-10cmVAS) during 1-4cm (mild pain) to 5-6 cm (moderate pain). Have pain pressure threshold with a pressure algometer in excess of 4kg/cm2. Not have inflammation and neurological sign such as numbness, burning pain, etc. Interviews and physical examination were performed by physiotherapists. The participants who do not have myofascial therapy within the past month. Not have any disease that limited exercise or chronic disease that must be treated with medicine more than three months, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and Hypercholesterolemia. No disability or limited range of motion of upper limb. Physical examinations were performed by physiotherapists. Participants are able to verbally communicate and agree to join the program.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: A history of underlying diseases or disorder (for example, herniated disc, spondylosis, spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, whiplash injury, cervical spine surgery, skin disease, Muscle diseases, Neurological deficits, inflammatory arthritis. Have psychiatric disorder or unable to verbally communicate. Have contraindication of stretching 1. a bony block limits joint motion. 2. a recent fracture, and bony union is incomplete. 3. Acute inflammatory or infectious process (heat and swelling) or soft tissue healing could be disrupted in the tight tissues and surrounding region. 4. Sharp, acute pain with joint movement or muscle elongation. 5. A hematoma or other indication of tissue trauma is observed. 6. Hypermobility already exists. 7. Shortened soft tissues enable a patient with paralysis or severe muscle weakness to perform specific functional skills otherwise not possible. Unable to commit to the full course of intervention and follow-up.
