Interventions

Insulin Glargine subcutaneous injection once daily dose by the dosage of 100% of previous 24 hours of regular insulin infusion dose.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patient with - admitted to the intensive care unit with hyperglycemia and required insulin infusion (blood glucose>=140 mg/dL) - required constant rate of continuous regular insulin infusion for 12 consecutive hours - previous 12 hours blood glucose level were in the proper range (80-200 mg/dL) - trend to receive constant glucose intake rate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Adult patient who - trend to change in glucose intake rate - deteriorated hemodynamic status - diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma
