Interventions
All participants received 7 x 100 ml bottles of standard Yakult at the start of the study. Participants were instructed to gargle with the contents of 1 bottle for 1 minute,
before swallowing the contents. This procedure was to be carried out after the evening meal for 7 consecutive days.
