Internet gaming disorder (IGD) Game Addiction Adolescents Psychosocial interventions

Interventions

Thirty adolescents with IGD will attend a 7&#45
day&#44
overnight interventional camp. During the camp&#44
all subjects will participate in activities designed for increasing awareness or insight of their game addiction behaviors and reducing risk factors contributing to game addiction. The parents of this
week parent management training program specifically designed for alleviating game addiction behaviors. The children of this group will not attend a 7&#45
overnight interventional camp.,Thirty adolescents with IGD will attend a 7&#45
overnight interventional camp. Also&#44
the parents of this group will receive an eight&#45
week parent management training program.,Parents of 30 adolescents with IGD from the waiting&#45
list will receive a basic&#44
hour lecture on how to deal with game addiction behaviors. Interventional camp or intensive parent management training will be provided after the comparing data collection completed.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adolescents aged 13-17 years 2. Having the Game Addiction Screening Test (GAST) score falling into either the Addicted or Probably Addicted classification group

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Having difficulties reading or understanding the questionnaires 2. Having serious psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, mental retardation, autism spectrum disorder
