18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Essential hypertensive patients aged more than 18 years with elevated SBP 140-149 mmHg and/or DBP 90-99 mmHg. Constantly used the same antihypertensive drugs and at the same doses for at least 2 weeks prior to the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elevated SBP > 160 mmHg and/or DBP > 100 mmHg, suspected of secondary hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure with serum creatinine > 2 mg/dl, active ischaemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, other major organ failure, pregnancy, and impaired vision.
