The subjects were randomly assigned to group A or group B: Group A drank 5 g reconstituted milk powder with probiotic L. paracasei SD1 once daily for 6 month,group B drank 5 g reconstituted milk powd

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: subjects had to have good oral health with caries in less than 2 teeth, be non-smoking and have daily tooth-brushing habits using a fluoride containing toothpaste.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were: (i) habitual consumption of probiotics or xylitol, (ii) systemic antibiotic medication taken within 6 weeks, (iii) allergy to cows' milk, lactose intolerance, severe food allergy, and (iv) systemic or severe chronic diseases.
