Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All cases of presumed bacterial endophthalmitis which are defined as the patients with 1. Best corrected visual acuity 20/50 or worse 2. Symptoms and signs of bacterial endophthalmitis no longer than 3 weeks: sudden visual loss, ocular pain, photophobia, red eye, A/C flare and cell, hypopyon and vitreous cell or clumping 3. In case of clinical suspect of bacterial endophthalmitis but posterior segment cannot be visualized. There must be positive finding of endophthalmitis from B-scan ultrasound 4. Etiology from recent post intraocular surgery, intraocular trauma or endogeneous infection.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: All patients with 1. Suspected non-bacterial endophthalmitis 2. History of uveitis 3. Inadequate specimen for laboratory analysis 4. The patient is not performed vitreous tapping or PPV or evisceration in King Chulalongkorn memorial hospital
