Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome expected Presentation of the expected outcome: Prevention of hypoxemia, with administration of oxygen at 2 liters per minute, upon arrival of the patient in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. Presentation of the method used to verify the expected outcome: Peripheral Oxygen Saturation was evaluated by pulse oximetry, every 15 minutes, during the first hour of stay in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. Presentation of the parameters: Maintenance of peripheral oxygen saturation equal to or greater than 95%.;Effectively found outcome: From the results it can be highlighted that there was a significant difference between the Control Group (CG) and the Experimental Group (EG), in relation to the value of the peripheral oxygen saturation at the time 15 (Value-p = 0.000), 30 -p = 0.006) and 45 minutes (p-value = 0.004), and in the time 15 minutes the SG presented a 2% increase in the saturation value in relation to the GC, while in the time 30 and 45 minutes the saturation value in GE increased 1% compared to CG.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected secondary outcome Presentation of the expected outcome: Improvement of the level of consciousness in the first 15 minutes, with administration of oxygen at 2 liters per minute, upon arrival of the patient in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. Presentation of the method used to verify the expected outcome: Evaluated the level of consciousness through the Aldrete Kroulik Scale, where it is attributed note two if the patient is lucid, oriented in time and space, note 1 when awakened if requested and note zero if it does not respond to commands. Applied every 15 minutes, during the first hour of stay in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. Presentation of the parameters: Maintenance of note 2, in the parameter consciousness, according to the scale of Aldrete Kroulik.;Secondary outcome actually found: The control and experimental groups were positively homogeneous in relation to consciousness in the first hour of permanence in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room at all times. It was observed that at the entrance of the patient in the Post-Anesthetic Recovery Room (Value-p = 0.830) and 15 minutes (p-value = 0.218), most individuals responded when requested in both groups, while at 30 minutes time P value = 0.839), 45 minutes (p-value = 0.360) and 60 minutes (p-value = 0.616). Most individuals in both groups were awake and oriented in time and space.
