| Expected outcome 1: It is expected that older adults wearing maxillary and mandibular complete dentures will exhibit reduced taste and olfactory function while using the dentures compared with the condition without dentures. A minimum variation of 5% in taste and smell measurements obtained between assessments conducted with and without denture use will be considered clinically relevant.;Outcome found 1: The assessment of gustatory function, using the Müller taste strip test, and olfactory function, using the olfactory threshold and odor identification tests from the Connecticut Chemosensory Clinical Research Center (CCCRC), did not demonstrate clinically relevant differences between conditions with and without the use of removable complete dentures in elderly users of bimaxillary complete dentures. | — |
