Age
18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: To be eligible, the workers must report not suffering from chronic systemic health problems; performing computer work for at least four hours (continuous or not) in an ordinary working day; having been performing computer work for at least five years; having been off work for no more than one month during the previous year; workplace that would allow the installation and use of a sit-stand desk for six months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Do not consent to the Free and Informed Consent Form; give up the evaluation stages, or do not use the table properly; present some acute musculoskeletal discomfort during the study intervention; present obesity II or III; women in the gestational period.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of working time in a sitting position, measured by the table’s switch recording system, from the detection of the substitution of at least 50 minutes of work in sitting position for standing position throughout the workday.;Reduction in body composition due to increased light physical activity at work, assessed by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA).;Increased physical activity inside of the workplace without developing a compensatory effect on physical activity outside the workplace during the sit-stand table intervention.

MeasureTime frame
Lower limb volume reduction measured by cytometry during the intervention with the sit-stand table.;Decreased perception of musculoskeletal signs and symptoms and psychosocial factors. All assessments through questionnaires will be performed at baseline, during the intervention and after the study completion.;Maintenance of the gains gained on physical activity with the intervention after the 1st and 3rd month of disuse of the sit-stand table.;The Likert scale will be deployed to assess the tables’ use agreeableness. Good ratings are expected from the employees.
