Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criterion was to be admitted to the ICU sector of two reference hospitals in Belém, from September to October 2017, to be admitted to the rehabilitation process in the Hospital wards, with a medical certificate allowing the accomplishment of kinesiotherapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Death or do not complete intervention

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Mean muscle thickness difference of at least 5% between the groups, determined by ultrasound at the beginning of the study and at the end of the study.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
primary outcome - Increased muscle thickness, as assessed by ultrasound with at least 5% thickness increase. Data collected 5 days before intervention and 5 days after intervention .; Secondary outcome - At least 5% increase in functional capacity, measured by functional tests performed 1 week before and after the intervention.
