Interventions

Intervention Group: 26 patients will be submitted to Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation in the active form, duration of 30 minutes, 2 first days of the menstrual cycle, during 3 menstrual cycle

11 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: women; age between 11 and 35 years; pelvic pain lasting 8 to 72 hours during the menstrual period; intensity equal to or greater than 3 on the numerical scale; nulliparous.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: use of contraceptives during the study period; frequent use of analgesics or anti-inflammatories during treatment; presence of pelvic disease; pregnant; history of abortion; musculoskeletal damage or excessive pain in any joint that may limit participation in an exercise program or evaluation of functional parameters; psychiatric disorder, cognitive decline or dementia influencing the communication process; under physiotherapeutic treatment during the study; presence of contraindications for the use of TENS, such as ulceration or allergy to electrode material; prior use of TENS; chronic use of opioids or antidepressants; - reduction of sensitivity in the places where the electrodes will be placed; history of previous surgery in the uterus; presence of chronic decompensated diseases.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduced pain intensity in patients with Primary Dysmenorrhoea, verified by the numerical scale of 11 points, pressure algometer, conditioned pain modulation test, temporal summation test, pain catastrophic scale and questionnaire McGuill's pain, after treatment with TENS and exercises

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in motor performance, verified by the 6-minute walk test, after treatment with TENS and exercises.;Improvement in motivation to the practice of physical activity, verified by the Inventory of Motivation for the Regular Practice of Physical Activity, after treatment with TENS and exercises. ;Improvement in physical fitness level, verified by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, after treatment with TENS and exercises.;Improvement in the quality of life, verified by the Endometriosis Health Profile Questionnaire, after treatment with TENS and exercises.
