60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Institutionalized elderly individuals aged = 60 years; both sexes; score = 25 on the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE); signed informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elderly people afraid of dogs; allergy to dogs; dog phobia; non-residents in Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effects of the interventions on cognitive, behavioral, emotional, functional and sleep capacities of institutionalized older adults; It is expected to find significant improvement in cognitive, behavioral and emotional scores and sleep quality; Assessed by Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI), Cornell Scale for Depression in Dementia, Modified Barthel Index and sleep quality scale; Increase in mean scores and reduction in behavioral and emotional symptoms will be observed

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the isolated effects of Dog-Assisted Therapy on cognitive, functional, emotional and behavioral dimensions; To evaluate the isolated effects of Aromatherapy on sleep quality; To compare the results between the intervention groups and the control group
