Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: adult patients; in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery; over 18 years of age and under 70 years of age; both sexes; who are on the first postoperative day; who have the cognitive capacity to understand the research process, by signing the Free and Informed Consent Form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: have diseases or some type of musculoskeletal disability; bone or joint disorders that make assessments and exercise protocol impossible; mechanical ventilation; neurological and behavioral changes; patients with hematocrit lower than 30%; hemoglobin less than 7; severe lung conditions; pathologies that incapacitate the study, such as amputation of the upper limbs or lower limbs; amaurosis; deep vein thrombosis; patients who were already performing aerobic or resistance exercise; participants who have unstable angina; decompensated cardiac arrhythmia; interaction difficulties that are unable to answer the questionnaires; systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 160 mmHg; diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 100 mmHg recurrent in 3 sessions; mediastinitis; decompensated diabetes mellitus; fasting blood glucose greater than 300; acute systemic infection
