This is a randomized controlled clinical trial with blinded evaluators. Initially, after signing the informed consent form, participants will complete the PAR-Q, undergo anthropometric data collection

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Not having performed strength training - ST in the six months prior to the start of the intervention; presenting adequate physical conditions for the practice of exercise; not having musculoskeletal injuries in the lower limbs or neuromuscular disorders that could compromise the execution of the proposed protocols; both sexes; ages between 18 and 35 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cardiac symptoms; diabetes; arrhythmias.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the myofibrillar area determined by immunohistochemistry from muscle biopsies of the vastus lateralis

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The cross-sectional area of the vastus lateralis muscle will be assessed by ultrasound, conducted by an experienced researcher blinded to the experimental conditions;Maximal dynamic strength assesed by the one-repetition maximum (1RM).
