Interventions

A total of 50 paticipants will be recruted to participate of this study. Participants will be randomized and divided into two groups: (1) placebo group - composed by 25 participants. Patients will rec
(2) probiotic group - composed by 25 participants. Patients will receive 1 capsule containing 20mg of the probiotic Lactococus lactis LMG27352 (2 x 10 to 9 CFU) per day for a period of 90 days.

Eligibility

Age
20 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Both genders; aged 20 years and over; accept the terms of the informed consent form IC; Waist circumference> 102 cm for men and> 88 cm for women; Blood pressure> 130 mmHg or> 85 mmHg; history of hypertension; Triglycerides> 150 mg / dL; patients on drug treatment for elevated triglycerides; HDL-cholesterol 100mgdL or in drug treatment for hyperglycemia. AST greater than 31 U / L (women) and 37 U / L (men) and / or ALT greater than 31 U / L (women) and 41 U / L (men).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than or equal to 40; Use of commercial probiotics consumed in the last 6 months

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in the resistance of insulin action, assessed by calculating the Homa index based on the insulin and fasting glucose levels based on the finding of a reduction of 1.4 points in the Homa index

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in serum levels of LDL lipoproteins, assessed through serum levels of LDL cholesterol will be obtained by direct testing of low density lipoprotein cholesterol (direct LDL-C) in the blood, from the finding of a reduction of approximately 1mg / dL, after 3 months of probiotic supplementation.
