Eligibility
Age
18 Years to No maximum
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 years or over; prehypertensive or stage 1 hypertensive patients at low cardiovascular risk; not taking antihypertensive medication; evaluated at the screening consultation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with stage 2 or 3 arterial hypertension or stage 1 arterial hypertension of moderate or high cardiovascular risk; using any medication with a known influence on blood pressure; diabetics; nephropaths; patients with a history of coronary artery and/or cerebrovascular disease; heart failure and/or thyroid diseases; with any condition that impairs the afferent and efferent conduction of nervous stimulation; severe blood dyscrasias; use of anticoagulants; skin lesions and/or any condition that makes access to the described acupoints impossible; pregnant and lactating women; with not controlled psychiatric illnesses ; who have received antihypertensive drug treatment in the last 6 months or who have already undergone acupuncture at some point in their lives
