Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Non-participants of any regular physical activity program in the six months prior to the survey.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Elderly people with disabilities that impair the body balance, as blindness or uncorrected visual impairment, and/or hearing impairment. Parkinson's, Alzheimer's or dementia diagnosed by a doctor. Lower limb prostheses. Against medical indication for exercising. Cognitive impairment detected by the Mini Mental (score below 24).

| There were no significant differences in the anthropometric variables depending on the training. These variables analyzed were: body mass index (BMI); percentage of fat by the skin fold method (triceps, pectoral, abdominal, mid axillary, subscapular, supraspinal, upper leg, tibial-femoral, suprailiac and biceps); waist-to-hip ratio (WHR); abdominal-hip ratio (RAQ). On the effect of water gymnastics on quality of life, we could observe that, among the domains of the SF36 questionnaire, the only one that suffered a change in the function of the program was the emotional aspect. Regarding the variables related to balance, there was a significant difference in the center of pressure with open eyes and anteroposterior oscillation with closed eyes. In this way, the aerobic program proved to be effective in postural control. The quasi-static equilibrium (EQS) was evaluated by static stabilometry using a baropodometry tool. Regarding functional capacity, the chair lift test in 30 seconds and the left Sit and Reach test had significant changes after the intervention with the aqua aerobics program. The improvement was observed in both tests in the GI and decreased in both tests in the control group. The functional capacity of the elderly was evaluated by the Functional Reach Test (FRT); Sit and Reach (SAR) test; Sit, stand and walk walk (TUG); chair lift test in 30 seconds (TLC); achieve (HG); and 6-minute walk test (6MWT).;After the exercise program, an improvement in quality of life (p = 0.001), in physical capacity (p = 0.006) and power of the lower limbs (p = 0.002) was observed.
