Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcomes 1: increase in the moderate level of physical activity in ten percent of the older adults especially of the behavior change group followed by the traditional group of value p less than 0,05. This variable was measured using the Actigraph GT3X accelerometer, during at least four valid days, one at the end of the week and the use at least ten hours. The variables of physical activity time were analyzed by minutes per day.;Outcome found 1: the older adults participants increased significantly the duration of moderate and vigorous physical activity after the three months of intervention. The p value was significant, although we did not reach the initially planned ten percent. The increase was eight percent.;Expected outcome 2: decrease sedentary time in ten percent of the elderly, especially in the behavior change group, followed by the traditional group with significance below 0.05. This variable was measured using the Actigraph GT3X accelerometer for at least four valid days, one at the weekend at least ten hours. The sedentary time variable was analyzed in minutes per day. ;Outcome found 2: decrease sedentary time after three months of intervention significantly. We found that there was a decrease in sedentary time, and the p value was significant. We did not reach the ten percent initially planned. The increase was eight percent.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1: to decrease BMI by at least five percent in the behavioral and traditional change groups. To assess BMI, height and body mass were used. The measurement of body mass was measured on a scale. Height was measured with a stadiometer. For the calculation of body mass index (BMI) and the classification of participants as underweight (less than 18.5), normal weight (18.5-24.9) and overweight / obese (25.0 or more). ;Outcome found 1: No statistical difference after body mass index (BMI) intervention.;Expected outcome 2: increased score on the quality of life (QoL) variable in five percent. The questionnaire proposed by the World Health Organization of the quality of life sector was used. We used the brief WHOQOL and the elderly (WHOQOL BREF and WHOQOL-OLD). The instrument assesses the domains of sensory skills, autonomy, past, present and future activities, social participation, death and intimacy. Each domain has an individual score and its sum provides an overall score.;Outcome found 2: there was an increase in the quality of life score, but without statistical significance.
