Interventions

Experimental group: 20 to smoking withdrawal symptoms receiving administration of 1 drop of essential oil of lavender through a surgical mask for a period of 5 minutes. Active control group: 20 smoker

Age
18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers in the smoking treatment group of the Basic Units of Family Health of the city of Campina Grande; Male and female; Over 18 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers who use drugs/substances depressants of the central nervous system; diagnosis of psychiatric conditions or hypotension; hemophiliacs or who use anticoagulant substances; Do not have problems in the upper airways; which are not available to participate in all stages of the study.

Reduction of scores on the psychometric instruments STAI and VAMS (measuring anxiety); and QSU-b (which measures tobacco craving) after lavender essential oil intervention when compared to the control groups.;Effectively there was reduction on the psychometric instruments IDATE and EAH (measuring anxiety); and QSU-b (which measures tobacco craving) after lavender essential oil intervention when compared to the control groups. The level of anxiety and craving for tobacco was reduced from high to moderate according to the classification proposed by the authors who created the respective instruments.
