Interventions

Patients will be randomly divided into 2 groups, and interventions will be performed twice a week for 8 weeks.1) Multicomponent Physical Training Group (n = 30 patients): composed of 3 phases: 1.1) wa

Age
50 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: clinical diagnosis of COPD; clinically stable; without cognitive impairment; independent to perform instrumental activities of daily living; don't use assistive devices for walking; with a medical indication for physical exercise

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: lung diseases such as asthma pulmonary fibrosis pneumonia and other non-pulmonary diseases such as heart disease or with sequelae of acute or chronic orthopedic and or neurological diseases that could influence the application of tests; patients who were inserted in a physical training program in the last 3 months

Primary

Exercise capacity assessed using the number of steps taken in the 6-minute step test after 16 exercise sessions

Secondary

1) Functional capacity will be assessed using the Time Up And Go (TUG) test and 5x sit and stand test after 16 exercise sessions 2) Peripheral muscle strength will be assessed by tests of maximum repetition (1RM), handgrip strength and maximum voluntary isometric contraction after 16 exercise sessions 3) Level of physical activity in daily life will be measured using accelerometry after 16 exercise sessions 4) Frailty will be assessed using the frailty phenotype proposed by Fried after 16 exercise sessions 5) Arterial stiffness will be assessed by means of tonometry after 16 exercise sessions 6) Risk of death will be assessed by the BODE index after 16 exercise sessions 7) Risk of falls will be assessed by the Physiological Profile Approach (PPA) after 16 exercise sessions 8) Dyspnea will be assessed using the modified version of the Medical Research Council Scale (mMRC) after 16 exercise sessions 9) Fatigue will be assessed using the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) after 16 exercise sessions 10) Quality of life will be assessed using the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) after 16 exercise sessions
