Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male adults; cyclists or triathletes. Stable body weight; healthy; regular coffee and milk drinkers. At least recreational trained according to the adapted classification of De Pauw et al. (2013).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Daily caffeine intake greater than 500 mg; athletes with any specific medical condition or recent injury; smokers; illicit drug users; drug treatment. Allergy; intolerance or discomfort with the consumption of milk and dairy products. Athletes who did not agree with the explicit informed consent form (ICF) during the interview could not be selected either.

Higher muscle glycogen accumulation after consumption of the test diet during the 4-hour recovery period compared to the control diet, verified by the muscle biopsy method followed by acid hydrolysis of the tissue, from the finding of a larger and statistically higher accumulation of glycogen content in g / 100g of tissue.

Larger area below the glycemic and insulinemic curve after consumption of the test diet during the 4-hour recovery period compared to the control diet, verified by the serum chemiluminescence method and area calculation by the trapezoidal method in GraphPad Prism, version 6, based on the finding of a larger statistically significant area.;Higher glycogen synthase activity in muscle tissue after consumption of the test diet during the 4 hours recovery period compared to the control diet, verified by muscle biopsy followed by spectrophotometric method in supernatant extracted from muscle tissue, from the finding of a higher enzymatic activity with the test diet.
