Eligibility

Age
28 Days to 14 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Will be included in the study patients of both sexes; chronological age from 28 days to 14 years incomplete; hospitalized in the PICU for more than 24 hours; using mechanical ventilation; sedated and adapted to the mechanical ventilator; with hemodynamic stability and consent of the patients parents and / or guardians by signing a free and informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Tracheostomized patients; with previous diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis; with unilateral lung disease; with contraindication to head elevation; and patients whose caregivers withdrew their consent from the study will be excluded from

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effect of positioning at 0º, 30º, 45º and 60º of elevation at the head of the bed, by means of the mechanical ventilator on the variable tidal volume in pediatric patients under mechanical ventilation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effect of the positioning at 0º, 30º, 45º and 60º of elevation at the head of the bed by means of the mechanical ventilator and calculations obtained from the mechanical ventilator on the respiratory mechanical variable in pediatric patients under mechanical ventilation.
