Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female patients aged 18 to 75 years; American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II; indication for breast surgery (e.g., sectorectomy, quadrantectomy), with or without axillary approach; procedure performed under general anesthesia; eligible for ultrasound-guided serratus anterior plane block; ability to understand and respond to the numeric pain rating scale; and provision of written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Infection and/or local pain at the block site; allergy to any medication used during anesthesia; renal dysfunction; coagulopathy; body mass index (BMI) greater than 40 kg/m²; severe heart disease; inability or lack of understanding of the assessment tool; or refusal to participate in the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1: It is expected to find similar analgesic efficacy between the different concentrations of levobupivacaine used in the serratus anterior plane block in patients undergoing breast surgery, verified by the Numeric Rating Scale, based on the comparison of pain scores at 0 hours, 2 hours, 6 hours, and at hospital discharge;Outcome found 1: It was observed that levobupivacaine at concentrations of 0.25% and 0.125% provided similar analgesic efficacy, verified by the Numeric Rating Scale, with no statistically significant differences in pain scores at the evaluated time points

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 2: It is expected to find a difference in the time to first rescue analgesia between the levobupivacaine concentrations, verified by the time interval, in minutes, between the performance of the block and the first administration of intravenous morphine;Outcome found 2: It was observed that there was no statistically significant difference in the time to first rescue analgesia between the studied groups, based on the analysis of the time interval between the block and the first administration of morphine
