Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diabetic women who presented gingivitis after evaluation of the Gingival Bleeding Index.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Diabetic patients with healthy gingiva and diabetic patients with edentulous.

MeasureTime frame
Presentation of the expected outcome is the reinforcement of knowledge about oral changes caused by diabetes and self-care options and available treatments.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Presentation of the expected outcome is the reduction of the degree of gingivitis registered in the initial examination by calculating the Gingival Bleeding Index. The results of the evaluation were as follows: 1-without bleeding, 2-gingival inflammation DISCRETE (1 to 10% bleeding faces), 3-Gingival inflammation MODERATE (11 to 25% bleeding faces), 4-gingival inflammation SEVERE (from 26 to 50% of faces with bleeding), 5- SEVERE gingival inflammation (from 51 to 75% bleeding faces) and 6- SEVERE gingival inflammation (Above 75% bleeding faces).
