Age
18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteer women; aged between 18 to 45 years; sedentary; body mass index equal or greater than 25 kg/m2; stable body weight in last three month.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Comorbidities or pathologies associated, except those of metabolic syndromes; use of medications and/or supplements to weight-loss; performing a restrictive diet.

Expected Outcome 1: An increase in aerobic fitness is expected, with at least 5% significance between the pre- and post-intervention measures. For this, aerobic fitness was determined in an exercise graded test, with a three-minute warm-up and two-minute stages, on a treadmill (Inbramed® model ATL - 24 km/h, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), until voluntary exhaustion. Oxygen consumption was measured throughout the test and the average of the last thirty seconds was defined as VO2peak. The oxygen uptake was measured by a VO2000 analyzer at the end of each stage and participants informed the rating of perceived exertion. Besides, heart rate was monitored using a Polar® FT1 monitor (Polar Electro Oy, Kempele, Finland). ;Outcome Found 1: Increases in aerobic fitness were observed after the intervention, but with no difference between types of training.;Expected Outcome 2: An increase in resting metabolic rate is expected, with at least 5% significance between the pre- and post-intervention measures. For this, the resting metabolic rate was estimated in the supine position for 20 minutes, with assessment of O2 and CO2 production, with uso of the VO2000 portable analyzer (MedGraphics®, St. Paul, USA).;Observed outcome 2: No changes in resting metabolic rate were observed.

Expected Outcome 1: An decrease in body fat mass is expected, with at least 5% significance between the pre- and post-intervention measures. For this, body composition was estimated using a bioelectric impedance analysis multifrequencial with eight tactile points (InBody model 570, Biospace®, Seul, Korea). ;Observed outcome 1: No changes in body composition were observed.;Expected Outcome 2: An decrease in body circumferences and risk indicators is expected, with at least 5% significance between the pre- and post-intervention measures. For this, stature, waist, abdomen, waist and hip circumferences were measured, and the body mass index (BMI) and waist/hip ratio (WHR) were calculated.;Observed outcome 2: No changes in body body circumferences or risk indicators were observed.
