Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Clinical effectiveness of Pomegranate's (Punica granatum L.) Brute Ethanol Extract mouthwash in the periodontal disease of women in puerperium, verified by means of the comparison of the of plaque index and gingival bleeding index in pre and pos measurements intervention, with the groups that used chlorhexidine at 0,12% and physiological solution in the consecutives 14-day period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of the amount of plaque dental after 7 and 14 consecutive days of rinsing of Pomegranate's (Punica granatum L.) Brute Ethanol Extract mouthwash, verified by measuring the Silness and Löe (1964) Plaque Index (IP),starting from the realization of a range of at least 18% in pre and post measurements intervention;Decreased gingival bleeding after 7 and 14 consecutive days of of rinsing of Pomegranate's (Punica granatum L.) Brute Ethanol Extract mouthwash, verified by measuring the Gingival Bleeding Index of Ainamo & Bay (1975), starting from the realization of a range of at least 18% in pre and post measurements intervention;Prevalence and severity of periodontal disease analyzed individually for indicators of gingivitis (bleeding), oral hygiene (dental calculus) and indicators suggestive of periodontitis (periodontal pocket of 4 to 5 mm and periodontal pocket of 6 mm or more) and verified by measuring of the Community Periodontal Index - CPI at baseline
