Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Individuals who present intolerance or allergy after supplementation will be excluded; Failure to follow directions given in advance of each experimental session; refuses to take supplementation; have difficulty adapting to the protocol; have more than six absences during the intervention period (corresponding to 25% of the total number of sessions in the 8 weeks of intervention.
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Improvement of Cardiorespiratory Fitness verified by Ergospirometry. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Improved Running Economy verified through oxygen consumption and speed (80% of respiratory compensation point). Oxygen consumption will be considered as the average of the final 30 seconds of the ten minute effort verified by ergospirometry.;Change in ventilatory threshold verified by the first increase in ventilation vs. incremental test speed and / or nonlinear increase in oxygen equivalent (Ve • VO2-1) vs. incremental test speed (BINDER et al., 2008). The respiratory compensation point will be determined by the second increase in ventilation (Ve) vs. incremental test speed and / or nonlinear increase in carbon dioxide equivalent (Ve • VCO2-1) vs. incremental test speed (BINDER et al., 2008).;Improvement in performance time of 5km by hand timer performed by experienced appraiser. | — |
