Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected to find increase in the rate of adherence to school meals, assessed by a question included in the questionnaire aimed at the frequency of consumption of school meals per week. Students who consume the food offered 3 or more times a week will be considered to have joined the school meal program. It must present a minimum percentage of 85% as an indication of good adherence to the menu.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
An increase in the acceptance rate for school meals is expected, assessed by applying the acceptability test in the National school Meal Program (PNAE), proposed by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The acceptance rate is calculated from the sum of the "I loved it" and "I liked" performed by the students, multiplied by 100 and divided by the number of students who consumed the meal. It must present a minimum percentage of 85% as an indication of good acceptance of the menu.;The intervention is expected to evaluate its effect on students' body mass index (BMI). Nutritional status will be assessed using BMI-for-age z-scores, calculated from weight and height measurements obtained by trained evaluators according to the World Health Organization (WHO) growth standards. The study will investigate whether increased adherence to school meals is associated with changes in BMI throughout the follow-up period.
