Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assess weight reduction in both groups. The weight and height data of all study participants will be measured following an appropriate protocol and the Body Mass Index (BMI) will be calculated. For weight measurement, a digital scale with a precision of 100g and a maximum capacity of 200 kg will be used. Height will be measured with the aid of a stadiometer with a scale of 0.1 cm. BMI will be calculated considering the ratio between body weight and height squared (BMI = Kg/m²). It is expected that the weight will decrease significantly after the intervention.;To assess the reduction in Waist Circumference (WC) and Neck Circumference (NC) in both groups. WC will be measured using an inextensible tape measure, with the individual standing, abdomen relaxed, arms relaxed at the sides of the body, with the tape placed horizontally at the midpoint between the lower edge of the last rib and the iliac crest. For WC classification, the cutoff points proposed by the World Health Organization will be adopted. CP will be measured at the midpoint of the neck. In men who have prominence, the CP will be measured below it. For classification, cutoff points proposed by Ben-Noun et al. Both circumferences are expected to significantly reduce after intervention.;Assess systemic blood pressure (SAH) in both groups. SAH will be checked in the right arm using a device available at Basic Health Units. Three measurements of arterial pressure will be made with an interval of one minute between them. The classification of Blood Pressure will be done according to the 7th Brazilian Guideline on Arterial Hypertension. For the classification of SAH, values = 140x90 mmHg will be considered. It is expected that SAH will decrease to values = 120x80 mmHg.;The practice of physical activity will be evaluated through the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), short version, adapted for the Brazilian population. The time spent sitting (TS) will also be evaluated using 2 questions from the
